This course is designed to provide you with techniques to incorporate into your massage without the use of your hands.
It is very important to think about your future career in the massage and body-work industry and this course also helps in preventing long term injuries to your wrists, hands, fingers and thumbs.
Some massage courses teach you a great routine but don’t always equip you with the skills and knowledge to protect your own body when working; this course does just that, by teaching you alternative moves to protect the body and ultimately the therapist’s future working life.
We help you to alleviate the pressure on the delicate bones, muscles, tendons and ligaments of the hands and the wrists. As body workers and massage therapists the tools of our trade are constantly under extreme stress, which may pose a potential hazard to our health. This course gives you step-by-step, easy to learn, effortless hands-free strokes that are simple to apply over the whole body and to incorporate within your hands-on treatments.
By using a variety of quality strokes both hands-on and hands-free, aided by good posture, you will prolong your working massage life and extend your repertoire of strokes to make your treatments more interesting for you to perform and for your clients to receive.
Is this course open to anyone, or do I need an existing massage qualification to take part?
• All students hold a UK recognised qualification in Massage and Anatomy & Physiology, to at least Level 3 standard.
Examples of pre-existing qualifications we accept for this course are, ITEC, VTCT, City & Guilds or equivalent in a body massage qualification. Please do check with us if you are unsure. You can email us, or call us on 0203 544 6544.
Is the course accredited and insurable?
Yes the course is recognised by FHT and is awarded 5 CPD points. If you are a member of FHT and have insurance with them, you can add this treatment to your repertoire. Other insurers will also accept this course but please do check with them first if you are unsure and before booking the course.
What is a CPD course?
This is a Continued Professional Development course or an Advanced Course for qualified therapists who have already studied a Holistic qualification. Each CPD course has a pre requisite and these are listed under the individual course information. If you are unsure if you have the correct qualification we will be happy to assist you. Most governing bodies require their members to continue studying, these requirements vary. Our CPD courses help you to fulfil this requirement and add to your existing skills to enable you to further your career.
Do I need to bring anything to the course?
No, we provide everything you need, all equipment including couches, manuals and learning materials. We even supply you with a pen to make notes!
What are the course times?
All our courses are 10am to 5.30pm unless otherwise stated. Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time for registration so that the courses can start promptly. We usually have a couple of comfort breaks and a 30 minute break for lunch.
Do students work on each other or models?
We think the best way to learn is by practical application and by having a treatment done you can experience the treatment and put yourself in the position of the clients. However there are times when it might be appropriate to work on the public during lessons, especially on longer classes so that you experience a larger range of clients. If you have any contra-indications please email us before the course, we will be discreet and this information will be kept confidential.
What is the cancellation policy?

We are an equal opportunities college and all learners are welcome, if you have special needs we will do our best to accommodate you.
