Free Aromatherapy Taster Day – Saturday 6th June 2026

Melanie Dean, teaching aromatherapy

To celebrate Aromatherapy Awareness Week 2026 (8th – 14th June), we’re hosting a free, hands-on aromatherapy taster day at the School of Natural Therapies in Battersea, London. Spaces are limited and completely free of charge, so if you’ve ever been curious about aromatherapy, this is your chance to experience it first-hand.

What Is Aromatherapy Awareness Week?

Aromatherapy Awareness Week is an annual initiative led by the International Federation of Aromatherapists (IFA) to raise public awareness of the clinical benefits of aromatherapy and celebrate the work of practitioners across the world. As a school accredited by the IFA, we wanted to mark the week with something genuinely useful for anyone who has been thinking about aromatherapy, whether as a therapy they’d like to receive or as a career they’d like to pursue.

What Is the Taster Day?

The event is called Energetics of Aromatherapy, and it’s a practical, hands-on exploration of how essential oils interact with our energy, emotions, and physical bodies. This isn’t a lecture. You’ll be getting your hands on the oils, working alongside others in a small group, and leaving with something you’ve made yourself.

  • Date: Saturday 6th June 2026
  • Location: School of Natural Therapies, Unit 57, Battersea Business Centre, 99-109 Lavender Hill, Battersea, London SW11 5QL
  • Cost: Free
  • Places: Limited – small group to ensure a quality experience

What Will You Do on the Day?

The day has been designed to give you a genuine feel for what working with essential oils involves, and to give you a preview of the kind of learning we offer on our professional courses.

  • Scent and Spirit – Experience selected essential oils first-hand and explore their unique energetic profiles.
  • Collaborative Learning – Work alongside a small group of like-minded people to discover the power of plant medicine.
  • Make Your Own Roller Ball – Formulate and blend your own bespoke stress-relief roller ball to take home.
  • Diploma Preview – Get a feel for our teaching style and a glimpse of the curriculum for our IFA Level 5 Diploma in Aromatherapy, starting this September.

Who Is This Day For?

This taster day is perfect for anyone who:

  • Has always been curious about aromatherapy but isn’t sure where to start
  • Is considering a career change into holistic therapies
  • Wants to experience our teaching style before committing to a full diploma course
  • Is interested in the energetic and emotional dimensions of essential oils

No previous experience is needed whatsoever. Our aromatherapy tutor, Melanie Dean, will guide you through the day in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

Thinking About Training Professionally?

The taster day is also a brilliant opportunity to see whether our IFA Level 5 Diploma in Aromatherapy is right for you. The September 2026 intake is now open, and this hands-on day gives you a real feel for the course before you commit.

The diploma is a nine-month blended learning programme accredited by the International Federation of Aromatherapists. You’ll cover everything from essential oil science and blending, through to client consultations, case studies, and a visit to Kew Gardens. Graduates are fully qualified to practise professionally and obtain insurance.

If you’re a complete beginner with no prior massage or anatomy and physiology background, our Access Course can be taken alongside the diploma to bring you fully up to speed.
