We are pleased to announce that our principal, Marc Innes, recently attended an exciting networking event organised by Sara Young of Spa Well. The event took place at Comfort Zone’s stylish office in WC1, central London, marking Spa Well’s very first community meeting.
Spa Well is a unique and supportive community specifically created for professionals in the spa and wellness industry. Understanding that professionals in this vibrant yet demanding sector often prioritise caring for others above their own wellbeing, Spa Well aims to provide a welcoming and collaborative space to foster connection, shared learning, and professional growth.
Marc’s participation in this pioneering event underscores The School of Natural Therapies’ commitment to being actively involved in the evolving spa and wellness community. With decades of experience delivering comprehensive massage training, our team is now increasingly recognised for addressing specific industry challenges – especially those related to therapist wellbeing and workplace absenteeism due to injury.
Therapists working in spa environments often face high rates of sickness and absenteeism, largely due to improper training or ingrained poor techniques. At The School of Natural Therapies, our massage courses are meticulously designed to teach proper technique and biomechanics, significantly reducing the risk of injury. Therapists who undergo our specialist spa massage training not only enhance their skill set but also promote a healthier, safer, and more productive working environment.
The networking event was a wonderful opportunity to connect with like-minded professionals who share the common goal of improving standards and supporting each other in the wellness sector. It also follows our recent successful collaborations with prestigious establishments such as our training partnership with Aman Spa at The Connaught and our training partnership with Brown’s Hotel in Mayfair, both of whom have benefitted significantly from our training programmes. In fact, both spas have reported reduced staff sickness rates since implementing our training methods, which emphasise proper technique. Additionally, staff members have seen an increase in client satisfaction, notably reflected in higher tips received!
We’re delighted to be part of Spa Well’s community as it grows and continues to champion collaboration and wellness among spa industry professionals.
