Lower Back Pain Clinic

Qualification gained: Accredited certificate from the School of Natural Therapies

(10 ThinkTree Hub CPD credits)

A two-day course designed for therapists,

exploring various contributors to lower back pain.

With lower back pain accounting for one of the most common reasons for GP visits, this course aims to explore the many issues associated with and the possible reasons for lower back pain, which according to the British Medical Association, affects 80-90% of the population at some point in their lives.

It is important to remember that lower back pain is not an illness, but a symptom, and its progressive development is an indication that ‘something’ is not right somewhere; however, it is not always clear on how and where the source lies.

With such a high occurrence, therapists need to have a deeper understanding of, and possess the hand-skills to address and manage this type of condition.

Moreover, the programme aims to understand more thoroughly the common perpetuators and maintainers of acute and chronic lower back pain, offering informed and effective manual therapy interventions, as well as advice to clients, so that we can improve upon our client’s presenting symptoms and self-manage the condition as effectively as possible, away from the treatment room.

During this dynamic 2-day programme, learners will understand and be able to utilise hand skill such as: –

  • Deep Tissue Massage
  • Osteopathic Mobilisation Techniques
  • Myo-fascial Release Techniques
  • Trigger Point Therapy
  • Soft Tissue Release (STR’s)
  • Muscle Energy Techniques (MET”s)
